Last Monday Stan and I took a drive out to Shenandoah National Park to drive the famous Skyline Drive. It winds through the park with lookouts, campgrounds and different scenic points to stop and enjoy through the entire route. Let me first say that this drive is not for the faint of heart. The views are magnificent, especially in the fall but the road is narrow, winding around mountains and cliffs and at a very high elevation. Of course, thousands of people visit it each year so it is super safe, but that didn't stop my knees from getting weak with every twist and turn. In fact, there was a guy that pulled up behind us at one of the scenic outlooks in a yellow corvette and I could only imagine how he was taking these roads. Ha!
The day was chilly but the sun made it warm enough that my chunky cable knit sweater was sufficient to keep me warm. Though in a few pictures I wrapped it around my hands because the wind would pick up right as we would start shooting. I haven't purchased anything from H&M in a few years, but I did a mini sweater haul this year and have been really impressed with all the pieces I picked up. And I am still going strong with these Sam Edelman boots which have quickly become one of my most worn this season. The heel is high enough to make me feel long and lean (isn't that the point of heels?!), but not at a height that makes the balls of my feet scream in pain. I've heard wonderful things about his classic pumps and am thinking about trying them in suede - the shape is so chic and much more expensive looking than it retails for.
