Those serums increase the length of the lifecycle, so the lashes grow longer. If you stop using it all together, all your lashes will go back to the shorter life cycle at the same time, so they tend to fall out and be shorter than before you started the serum.
If you have achieved the desired length of lashes, just cut back on the frequency, use it every other day and you'll be fine.
