My Holiday Dress

Annnnnnnd so the Clover Canyon obsession continues (see my other two dresses here and here). I now own three of their dresses and truly feel they are like pieces of art in my wardrobe. I am not always drawn to prints but from the first time I ever came across the brand, I was mesmerized by the colors, patterns and designs of all the pieces. And most of the dresses are made from a heavy neoprene material which means they hold their shape and hardly wrinkle. I wanted to pick up a dress for the holidays and as soon as I came across this one I knew it was the winner. The colors seemed festive and the long sleeves made it perfect for the winter. I've already worn it for Thanksgiving and plan on wearing it for Christmas and perhaps New Year's as well (no one can ever accuse me of not getting use out of my clothes - LOL). Rather than try and compete with the pattern, I found that simple black fishnet tights and black heels are the perfect complement. If you are looking to invest in a dress for special occasions, I would highly recommend picking up a piece from Clover Canyon. I know that pulling them out of my closet in 10 years will still give me the same excitement that it does now. Granted they still fit. Womp womp.

Bits and Pieces: Clover Canyon - A Love Affair

Sass on.

Bits and Pieces: Miami Streets

I had debated naming this post "The Most Amazing Dress in the World", but I felt that was a little too biased of me, so I went with the actual name of the dress - Miami Streets.  And that is exactly what it is - the streets of Miami splashed across my entire torso and upper thighs - and I love it.  I am quite sure this is the farthest I have stepped out of my fashion comfort zone in a long time, but I fell in love with the Clover Canyon brand a few months ago and had to have a piece (and contemplating a few more....le sigh).  In addition to a pattern that is simply mind-blowing, the fit and material are worth every penny.  The fabric is a heavier weight neoprene and holds its shape quite well with little to no wrinkling.  I brought it with me on a recent vacation and it was the only piece in my suitcase that came out perfect and ready to be worn, no steaming/ironing needed. I paired it with my recently purchased Zara sandals, as the dress does not need any competition from the shoes.  I typically favor a lower heel but the price was so good and the style so simple, that I felt it was worth it.  But a quick caveat emptor if you are thinking about buying these heels, the pitch is a tad high and my foot falls forward quite a bit so I have purchased some foot petals to hopefully help.  If anyone has these sandals and found a solution to it, leave me a comment below or tweet me @alittlebitetc.  The dress however, is a home run, and if you are wanting a statement dress for the summer, I would take the plunge on a Clover Canyon piece.
