All the Best Home Decor Finds From the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

The fashion and beauty steals from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale are the biggest draws, but I thought I would round up all the home decor items I found from the sale that were worth shopping!

1. Duvet Cover - This duvet cover and set comes in so many colors and is so cute for your bedroom or even a guest bedroom.

2. Faux Mink Sleeping Bag - I would go camping if it meant I could sleep in this fabulous number! Hello glamping! But it would also would be great for movie night or if you need extra "beds" for when guests come over.

3. Salad serving set - Serving salad but making it fancy. LOL

4. Pouf stool - This is a great piece for a nursery or bedroom and it would go with so many different home decor styles.

5. Pitcher - While this is technically a pitcher, I would use this as a gorgeous vase.

6. Marble and wood serving board - Treat yourself to this and then head to the store and buy a bunch of overpriced cheese to jazz up a simple dinner at home.

7. Leopard lumbar pillow - Leopard lovers don't need any reason to buy this. It's leopard and that's the only reason we need. LOL

8. Leather pouf - This is definitely a pricier item but would look absolutely amazing in a den or family room. It's a major statement piece.

9. Grey wood wastebasket - Put this in your home office or a guest bathroom to add a bit more flair. This is so much better than a boring old trashcan.

10. Aromatherapy diffuser - I actually don't have any diffusers at home but this one makes me want to reconsider. It looks so chic.

11. Clean bath mat - I bought this for my bathroom and think it's so cute.

12. Marble print throw - For the price, this is a fun throw to add on a chair or as a decorative piece on a bed or bench. I'm a sucker for all things marble print. #sobasic

13. Wine rack - This would work as a wine rack or even hold your olive oil bottles in the kitchen. It's a great way to display bottles you use regularly in a decorative yet functional way.

14. Wool rug - A great neutral rug for almost any room of the house. It would also make a great entry way rug!

My Coffee Table Book Collection

Sweater (more colors here and here) | Jeans | Chaise | Rug | Side table | Dresser | Mirror | Lamp | Wall art

Coffee table books are one of the best ways to accessorize throughout the house. They look great alone or stacked together and I love to vary the colors and sizes that I put together.  I have collected quite a few over the years and prefer to buy them one at a time because they can be pricey. However, I have found that they are often much cheaper on Amazon so that is where I buy almost all of my coffee table books now. This Chanel one and this one about Alexander McQueen are my two newest additions and each are beautiful to look at. The McQueen one is definitely one of my favorite books I've ever purchased because the front has a holographic photo and the images inside are absolutely stunning.

I love buying fashion and beauty coffee table books, but would love to add some home decor, food and photography books to my collection. Stan has quite a few coffee table books centered around food and famous chefs that he has collected over the years so we are slowly amassing a small library at this point. LOL

A few books next up on my list to buy are this Tom Ford one, this book on dogs (because dogs are awesome), any of Gray Malin's books (I have Beaches and love it), this book by Diane Keaton and this Cartier book is such a statement piece. I linked all my current books in the below widget so you can scroll through to see each one.

My Favorite Candles To Burn During the Holidays

I love burning candles all year round, but especially during the holiday season. I like a wide variety of scents from woodsy and earthy to sweet and warm. Here are 8 of my favorite candles that I love to burn now:

1. Diptyque Sapin de Lumiere Candle - I am a sucker for the packaging on the holiday candles that Diptyque puts out every year. Sometimes I like all 3 scents, other times just one or two of them. This year, I preferred the Sapin de Lumiere out of all 3. It's a much fresher version of a traditional fir tree scent which I prefer. And of course the jar and box are one of a kind and beautiful.

2. Thymes Frasier Fir Candle - I first discovered this candle at a local shop near my home and was panicked that I wouldn't be able to find it again. Then I went online and realized that it's a very popular candle for the holidays. Whew! Crisis averted. It smells like a fresh cut Christmas tree but in the most pleasant way possible.

3. Capri Blue Fir & Firewood Candle - I have to be honest and say that this smells very similar to the Thymes Frasier Fir candle so if you like that one, you will definitely love this one by Capri Blue. I find that both have a long burn time but the throw on this candle is slightly less than the Thymes, in my opinion. (throw refers to how far in a room the scent will reach)
4. Nest Fragrances Holiday Candle - This is a staple for me every year and would also make an amazing gift. While many of the selections in this list are woodsy, this is a nice mix of pine and cloves with pomegranate and mandarin orange.

5. Nest Fragrances Sparkling Cassis Candle - Out of all my picks, this candle is my favorite and one that I would burn all year long. I love it for the holidays but plan to buy multiple backups because the fruity scent is divine! It's a mix of pink champagne, creme de cassis, frosted cranberry and wild fig. I don't even have to light it to smell its scent throughout my entire home. It's that fragrant and lovely.

6. Nest Fragrances Hearth Candle - This was a new candle for me this year and one that I wouldn't normally gravitate towards because of how woodsy and earthy it smells. However, after burning it for the past few weeks, I love how cozy it makes my room smell and the scent is more subtle than others I have. It's a mix of rich wood, frankincense and smoky embers.

7. Byredo Tree House Candle - I already finished this one but I absolutely loved it and thought it would make an amazing holiday and/or winter scent. It's a bit more unique than the other woodsy scents I have mentioned with notes of sandalwood, bamboo and cedar mixed with leather, spice and myrrh. And the bottle is absolutely chic and gorgeous.

8. Diptyque Ambre Candle - If you want another Diptyque recommendation for the holidays, I love the Ambre scent and the Vanille scent too. Both are warm and rich yet not overpowering or too sweet.

Target Holiday Decor Haul

Sweater | Jeans | Boots (also available here and more colors here) | Bag (similar)

That's me in my natural element - the Target home decor section! I popped by a few days ago and did a small holiday haul that I thought I would share. Things sell out so quickly at the Target near my house and the shelves were packed with double this amount of merchandise just a week ago. Hopefully they restock and I can come back for a second trip. #justification Scroll down to see all the things I snagged during my shopping trip:

Mini trees (couldn't find them online but this is the brand) | All home office decor linked here

Wreath | Napkins | Reindeer

Throw

Ornaments | Throw

Pinecones | Throw

To be honest, this was such a random haul but those are the best kind! I was in a bit of a rush so I plan to go back when I have more time to look around and make sure I didn't miss anything. Below are a few more things that I saw online but couldn't find in store that I am thinking of getting:

Thanksgiving Decor Ideas

I'm sorry to tell you this but Thanksgiving is less than 3 weeks away. I know, my mind is blown as well! I'm both nervous because it is approaching so quickly but excited because I love the holidays. If you are hosting, I pulled together some cute decor pieces to use around the home or at the dinner table. Some of these would also make great hostess gifts for the holiday season! Besides the ones I featured in the collage above, there were a few more that caught my eye...

Miles' Nursery

My outfit: Sweatshirt | Jeans

Miles outfit: Onesie (c/o) | Shoes

Crib area

Glider area

Glider | Jute pouf | Side table | Lamp | Zebra pillow | Elephant statue (Home Goods) | Metal shelf | Wall baskets | Curtains | Basket (Home Goods) | Swaddle blankets in basket

Changing Table area

Changing table | Changing pad cover | Animal heads | Elephant art + M initial (Home Goods) | Elephant hamper (also available here) | Metal shelves | Rainbow block set

Wall details

It's finally complete! Yay! I knew that I probably wouldn't finish Miles' nursery until after he was born, and to be honest it was not something I worried about while pregnant. I knew it would get done and we had all the basics (crib, glider, dresser, etc) but the actual decor and details could come later. While I wanted to keep most of the room neutral, I still wanted there to be different textures, prints and elements that made it fun. My close friend helped me design the room and pull all my ideas together. I wanted a bit of a safari look with lots of animals throughout, but without a full on "theme" room.

My absolute favorite part of the entire room was the round mirror we found for above his crib! I even contemplated buying a second one for another room in my house, because I loved the design. A lot of people told me to invest in a good glider because it would make a difference since you spend so much time in it. However, I did not want to do that and ended up going with this one that was under $300 and I LOVE it! It's much more comfortable than I thought and rocks so easily. I switched out the ottoman for a lower pouf and find it works better for me. While I don't have a ton of wall storage right now, I opted for baskets and a larger dresser. This dresser is so spacious and can hold a ton of clothes, bedding, blankets, etc. And it will transition perfectly to a "big boy" room when Miles outgrows his crib. I do plan to maximize the closet space with tons of shelves and organizers, and will definitely share the final result on the blog when it's done.

Everyone in the house (my mom, Stan and myself) love spending time in here now that it's all complete. I wasn't sure about spending the money on a rug because of all the spills, stains, etc that it would most likely see but we found this one for less than $200 which pulls the whole room together! In time, I plan to move out the animals in the corner (the plant was there just for photos, it normally goes in my office), and put a teepee there. I'm sure Miles will love that!

I plan to do an update on Miles, his schedule and some new favorites that we have transitioned to so stay tuned for that in a few weeks! For now, you can read through all my past motherhood posts here, baby posts here and previous home decor posts here.

If there is anything from the room that I didn't link or you have more questions about, feel free to leave me a comment below and I will be sure to get back to you with an answer or link!

I know this post is long overdue (and yes, we shot these photos when I was still pregnant), but I'm so excited to finally share completed pictures of my home office! I'm sure I will continue to tweak things and add more pieces over time, but for the most part it is fully decorated. I'm so excited to have a space to call my own, and somewhere I can go and work while keeping it separate from the rest of the home. We ending up turning a spare bedroom into my office, though it shares a bathroom with Miles' room so I can always pop over and check on him when I'm working.

I'm a person that works best in a space that inspires me - whether that could be a beautiful park bench, a cozy coffee shop or my home office. I didn't want to just throw a desk in here and call it a day. I love that in addition to my desk, I have a small sitting area to enjoy and use even for meetings that I have at my house. Sometimes I will begin working in my bedroom (see that room here) or downstairs in the family room, but always end up heading into my office after a few minutes because the room immediately calms me and makes me so much more productive.

I'll slowly be decorating the rest of our home, but to be honest I really want to take my time and find pieces that I love and create spaces that we will enjoy. My current project is Miles' nursery and I'm hoping to have it done in the next few months, and then I'm deciding if I will tackle finishing my bedroom or begin working on our downstairs family room. Either way, I will definitely share snippets along the way (mostly on Instagram @alittlebitetc).
